Happy Birthday Mr Co-Host! Ep 13 Journal of Marcus Ty Podcast

We recorded this week's show on Marcus's birthday so I made him a little present! It was also Friday 13th so it was really appropriate to inflict my singing on him - true horror show stuff it was! I was trying for a marilyn Monroe kind of effect, not sure I quite pulled it off though! This Episode 13 was also recorded just 2 days into Patch 5.4 - consequently our topic of discussion was blindingly obvious & we talked about all our first impressions of the new Timeless Isle. I'm pretty sure we got a few things wrong too as everything was so new!

We did try to give some hints & tips for questing or not running around like headless chickens - at least, that's how it feels to me so far! Marcus seems a little more focused and informative though. We talked briefly about the Auction Houses on our realms & hopes for further into the new patch and we talked about how to get some of the better chests on the new Isle.

As usual, you can find the show on iTunes or Stitcher radio or if you prefer, you can play it directly from Marcus's website

If you don't know, Marcus has written a very extensive gold guide and is working on updating it all the time. I've been an affiliate of his for a long while now as I believe it is one of the best gold making guides out there. You can get more details at his Auction House Secrets site. It's not for experienced gold makers of course but if you're just starting out, you will find it very helpful and there's a 60 day money back guarantee too!

  1. I've just listened to this episode and I'm in shock. When discussing being able to gear alts up with Timeless Isle BoA drops you both found it "wonderful". It baffles me that a goldmaking podcast does not realize the impact this has on the goldmaking community. With this gear most players can by-pass a whole tier of crafted gear, which was the only thing really in store for major gear-heavy professions such as Tailoring, Blacksmithing and Leatherworking.

Anyway I like the podcast in general. Keep up the good work.

    1. Apart from the whole Timeless Isle only being 3 days old when we recorded this episode, I do realise how it has impacted the sales of PvP crafted items. Perhaps we didn't really think it through at the time - with all the excitement and new stuff to explore and being a player with multiple alts just languishing in town due to time restrictions, it's like anything - it has an up & a downside.

The good news of course is that gems, enchants & item enhancements like leg armours are in even greater demand as all those new pieces of gear need re-gemming!

    2. Every patch is going to have an impact on markets and you've given a good example of one. But good gold makers roll with the punches and adapt to market changes. I guess Nev and I were mainly commenting on the gameplay. I know my alts are shedding their crafted gear and buying up/crafting new gems and enchants - which is where I'm making gold at the moment.

But good point and perhaps we should discuss the impact of these changes once the dust has settled.

      Cheers
      Marcus

  2. The impact of this is actually far reaching. GIO is being dumped due to lack of demand of PvP crafted gear. This is affecting the supply of gems and the prices of raw gems dropped quite quickly. The demand on gems has not been able to keep up with the supply of raw gems. Granted some of this might come from stockpiles, but on my server at least the post patch bonanza ran out pretty darn quickly.
